PA Parks & Forests Foundation

Your purchase makes a difference! 50% of net profits are donated to environmental charities and a tree is planted for each pair sold.

One of the amazing charities your purchase will support is the Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation, a statewide nonprofit organization working to provide a voice for our 121 state parks and 2.2 million acres of forest land.

The PA Parks & Forests Foundation understands the importance of the outdoors for protecting human physical, mental and emotional health. Built on the values of integrity, innovation, collaboration, conservation, diversity, inclusion and sustainability, the Foundation works to inspire stewardship of Pennsylvania’s parks and forests. Through citizen engagement, volunteerism, investments, and advocacy, they strive to ensure a place and an experience for everyone in the outdoors, while caring for the places we know and love.

One of my goals at Sunny Get Up is to inspire people to get up, get moving, and get outdoors. The PA Parks & Forests Foundation is hard at work to make this goal accessible for all, focusing on removing barriers for people spending time outdoors. They focus on inclusivity and invest in projects such as trail repair, ADA improvements, and education and outreach. For example, at Black Mo they purchased a beach wheelchair, at Little Buffalo they put in an accessible dock, and their education and outreach efforts teach leave-no-trace principles.

Here is just one example of how critical their work is - they put a trail in at McConnells Mill State Park after multiple deaths when people tried to view the falls. The new trail takes people to the base of the falls — with a great view — and the accident rate has decreased!

I cherish our local state parks and state forests here in PA, and my husband and I go hiking several times a week -- it's been an essential stress reliever and perfect socially distant activity during these strange times. I believe that by spending more time in nature we come to realize that we're a part of it and that it's our responsibility to help take care of our planet. I also believe in acting both globally and locally, which is why I want to donate to support our State Parks and State Forests here in this beautiful place I call home.

Through the important efforts of the PA Parks & Forests Foundation, your yoga pants will help the planet and make this natural beauty more accessible to all. Please help me raise funds to support them! Get up, get moving, and get involved to help the make the world a better place. Get your Sunny Get Up pants now!
