"No Mud, No Lotus"

A few years ago Jeremy and I went on a pilgrimage through India and Nepal to walk in the footsteps of the Buddha with the monks and nuns of of Plum Village, in Thich Nhat Hanh's tradition of Buddhism. "No mud, no lotus" is one of the phrases that stuck with me from that journey. "Make good use of your suffering" is another.

I've been thinking about those words of wisdom in my teaching this week...

2020 has had some mud. A lot of mud. No doubt about it.

But some lotuses too.

One lovely lotus for me has been our virtual Yoga Lab studio, reconnecting with many students and teachers who have moved away from our home base in State College, PA. In addition to our PA community, we now have practitioners joining us regularly from California, Colorado, Ohio, New Jersey, NY, and even Italy and Germany. I'm so thankful for all of you!

I'm teaching New Year's Eve and New Year's Day if you want to join me! Let's gather together to send off 2020 and ring in the new year with gratitude. Sign up HERE.

Thank you also to everyone who has supported the launch of Sunny Get Up! Creating yoga pants to help the planet has been another bright lotus in 2020 for me, and the time spent at home helped me pull it all together and finally launch.

Thank you all so much for helping me plant trees and raise funds for environmental charities!

Pictured here in Painted Lotus Leggings...

Cheers to a new year.

XOXOXOXO
